This project was all about the moment when you open up the page of a book. About making the reader linger on pages for a longer or shorter amount of time. I chose a poem by Ted Hughes, The Thought Fox, to base my book on. I used several different forms of typography to show the confusion in the poem and to make the text a little harder to read. The end book was hand painted with gouache and hand bound.

This is a recent uni project where we had to make a shoe represent someone famous. I chose TV gardener and writer Alys Fowler. With my dad being an Allotments Manager and my mother an avid gardener I've always been interested in this subject matter. The project was set to get us thinking about getting an idea across to an audience using simile and metaphor. I decorated my welly with fake flowers, vintage fabric, seed packets and glasses. I also drew the apple tattoo that Alys has on her arm on the outside of the welly.
